Evalution:

A song representative of Paramore is “Crushcrushcrush”. It is the third single from their third album, “Riot!”. It was released in late 2007. It appeared on MTV’s TRL music show and Play Station’s Rock Band game. My reaction to the song is I like how the song sounds. It has a pop sound to it but with some rock-sounding edge to it. I love listening to it before my soccer or basketball games because it’s a fun song. The musicality is great. The tempo is moderate but at times during the bridges and chorus it gets faster. The rhythm is great to listen to, especially with the sound of the drums in the background.
The artistry is impressive because the singer seems to be very passionate about what they are trying to say. During parts of the song, the mood of the singer changes from calm to very emotional, building suspense. The combination of the guitar, bass, and drums is effective in creating an exciting mood.
I think Paramore will be around for a while if it keeps producing albums, however I doubt people will be listening to Paramore ten or twenty years from now. Paramore can't be compared to bands like the Beatles or the Rolling Stones. Pop or emo style music doesn't usually last as long as classic rock type music. I think Paramore hit its prime in their career around 2007 when they were featured on MTV and did their "Final RIOT!" tour.
